Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been won on hard surfaces

A revitalized Medvedev claimed his initial trophy for nearly 30 months with success over opponent Moutet in the tournament title decider.

Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a challenging year, winning just a single victory at the major tournaments and undergoing a setback at the New York tournament.

His unpredictability on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serve in particular - led to him dropping out of the top ten and eventually parting ways with long-time coach his previous coach.

Presently training with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has consistently advanced in the past month - culminating in a closely contested competitive triumph over opponent Moutet.

It is Medvedev's maiden title since the Italian tournament and first on a hardcourt from that period of 2023.

The win also indicates he has achieved twenty-one victories at 21 various competitions.

"For the first time I have attended a tournament with my both daughters at once, so to secure a title is especially meaningful," commented tennis professional the champion.

"This title is in tribute of my child Victoria, because the maiden victory I won when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."

Medvedev, the former major winner, had lost his last six finals, including in that event in the past months.

Medvedev's counter-punching strategy and recurring emotional displays on court had led commentators to question if his ability to compete at the elite level was over.

However the athlete has made changes in the past month, attempting to approach the net and compete positively, reinforced by an enhanced serve.

The champion recovered from a disadvantage in the first set against the tricky Moutet, securing four of the final five games to go ahead.

The pair traded service breaks in the second set before Moutet, bidding for his maiden ATP Tour victory, took control to force a final set.

The opponent rescued four initial chances in a close third set before the Russian broke to that score to secure the win.

Suitably, he secured the title with a rally at the front of the court, with Moutet unable to control a return after over two and a half hours.
